Neptune kitchen showrooms near Selby
Selby grew up around its abbey on the bank of the Ouse, and the Norman church still sets the scale of everything near it. It is a town of Georgian frontages on Gowthorpe, tight pantiled yards at Millgate and postwar estates spreading out towards Brayton, each deserving a kitchen to match. Every Neptune kitchen is made by hand from solid timber, built to last a lifetime.

York is the nearest location to visit for a kitchen: it holds the full Neptune kitchen showroom collection, with free parking and an easy drive north. Each showroom is home to a team of expert kitchen designers, with full displays of our cabinetry collections, paint finishes and hardware to explore in person. There is no better way to begin your kitchen journey than to step inside a Neptune kitchen showroom and see the quality for yourself.
Kitchens for Selby homes
Selby was built for the river before it was built for anything else. The Abbot's Staith and Millgate sit closest to the water, a compact area of narrow winding streets with pitched pantiled roofs, handmade brickwork and interlinked yards. The Georgian frontages on Lower Gowthorpe came later and face inland. Later still, terraces filled Audus Street and Brook Street, and out on Leeds Road the houses stand set back in mature gardens.
The houses nearest the water were built to a different logic from the ones furthest from it. Suffolk's pared-back Shaker lines suit the tight, low rooms at Millgate, where storage decides the design. Chichester's Georgian detail belongs in the taller houses along Lower Gowthorpe. Henley's oak and painted timber carries the set-back houses on Leeds Road and the farmhouses out towards Cawood. Borough's freestanding pieces suit the estates towards Flaxley Road and Brayton, where the rooms are open and the usable walls few.
Whatever your home, our designers take the time to understand your space, your architecture and the way you live, creating bespoke kitchens in Selby and the villages along the Ouse.

About our kitchen design service
Why choose Neptune for your Selby kitchen
Every Neptune kitchen is made from sustainably sourced solid timber. No MDF, no chipboard. Just solid oak, tulipwood and hardwood ply, constructed using traditional mortise-and-tenon joints and dovetail drawers that are built to last not just years, but generations.
That commitment to quality is part of what we call our 100-year mindset: making kitchens designed to outlast trends, refurbishments and generations of family life. It's why we can offer a lifetime guarantee on every kitchen we fit through our approved installation teams. Should any cabinet warp or crack from natural wood movement, we will repair or replace it. It's a promise we've made with confidence since John Sims-Hilditch and Giles Redman founded Neptune in 1996.
Our designers bring that same care to every project. Rated 4.8 out of 5 on Trustpilot, with over 10,000 reviews, Neptune is consistently rated among the UK's highest-rated kitchen brands, not because we simply deliver a product, but because we guide you through every stage of the process, from your first free consultation to the final fitting.
