100% wool. There are lots of reasons why wool works well for rugs. It feels soft underfoot, keeps its shape and is breathable, so it won’t trap smells. And as it’s a natural insulator, it’ll help keep your room warm and muffle any ambient noise.
Whytock is a flatweave rug, which means it’s woven rather than having knots or tufts. Its texture is much finer and flatter than most of our rugs, but this shows the pattern off better. It also makes it hardwearing and easy to keep clean, as there’s no pile to trap dust and dirt.
How we make it
Our flatweave rugs are made on hand-operated looms, so they may have tiny slubs here and there in the weave. These are something to embrace as part of their handmade character.
A simple overstitched border gives this rug strength around the edges. Underneath, it has a cotton and natural latex backing for added durability and to stop it moving around on your floor.
When it comes to smaller items, we don't hang around.
From our own, white-glove service for delivering larger pieces in the UK and Ireland, to our courier and international partners, rest assured that we’ve done everything we can to make sure your order gets to you on time and in one, perfect piece.
Delivery’s also entirely free if you’re in the UK and spend over £50 (or €100 in Ireland).
We believe that returns should be easy, which is why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. And, you’ll also have 28 days to do so – just in case you need time to mull things over.
