Timeless Shaker Kitchens by Neptune

Shaker is a design principle that is characterised by craftsmanship, use of natural materials and functional design. It’s more than appearance alone, the Shaker principle is really about function. At Neptune, a Shaker-style kitchen is defined by the core values of timeless appeal with clean-lined cabinetry without ornamentation, honest use of solid timber and craftsmanship, and functionality above all else.

The hallmarks of Shaker design

In 1821, the Shakers, a group of 18th-and 19th-century farmers and labourers, set out a simple philosophy: use only the best materials, refine every detail and always strive to make something better than it’s been done before.

  • Simple by design

Pared-back cabinetry which considers clean lines, balanced proportions, recessed door and drawer panel. Nothing should be added without purpose.

  • Crafted to last

The Shaker door uses rails and stiles to frame a recessed panel. Solid timber interiors, oak drawers and dovetail joints signal quality and longevity.

  • Made for living

Doors align neatly, drawers sit flush and elements repeat consistently throughout cabinetry, forming beautiful storage and thoughtful design.

  • A style that evolves

Clean-lined cabinetry, without ornamentation or frills, which offers a versatile canvas for customisation and creativity.

Our Shaker-style kitchens

Why choose a Neptune Shaker-style kitchen?

  • A lifetime guarantee

We build our kitchens to last, using carefully selected materials and time-honoured craftsmanship. That's why every Neptune kitchen is backed by our lifetime guarantee when installed with one of our accredited team.

  • Materials without compromise

We use solid timber throughout our cabinetry, never MDF or chipboard. Our cabinets are finished with water-based, low-VOC, odour-free paints, creating a beautiful finish that's also kinder to your home environment.

  • Details that deliver

Hidden within the doors and frames of our kitchen cabinets are traditional mortise and tenon joints, reinforced with solid wooden dowels for exceptional strength. It’s a method that celebrates a time-honoured joinery technique, forming the foundation of our furniture.

  • Hand-finished with care

Every cabinet is hand-finished with our signature eggshell paint, giving exceptional coverage and a beautifully tactile surface. There are 48 paint shades to choose from. And to protect the natural beauty of our oak we developed our own IsoGuard® finishing oil that provides lasting protection.

“A dream kitchen that still looks as beautiful years on as the day it was installed. Exceptional quality, timeless design, and a space we continue to love living with every day.”

The details that make a Neptune Shaker kitchen different

  • Built-in chopping boards

Save worktop space by choosing a specially designed built-in chopping board. Installed into your cabinetry with easy access to where you cook, they can be stored out-of-sight when not in use.

  • Stand-out cabinetry accessories

Spice trays, larder bridges, knife blocks and stainless steel-lined cubbies help keep all everyday utensils and produce easily divided and accessible.

  • Organised larder storage

The cavernous storage of full-height single and double door larders includes drawers, door racks and adjustable shelves, so you can optimise every space. A true indication of Shaker-style functionality.

  • Zig-zag shelving

Our saw-tooth-like pieces of timber run the height of the cabinet and are used to hold shelves. Easy placement and adjustable, they look lovely left in oak or painted to match cabinetry.

  • LED strip lighting

Glazed top cabinets are softly illuminated with subtle LED strip lighting, which can also be included in other cabinets which helps to highlight what’s stored inside.
