Why Neptune
Co-founder John Sims-Hilditch explains Neptune's approach to design, materials and longevity.
30 years of making houses into homes
We believe the best homes are built slowly, lived in fully and enjoyed for generations. That's why we believe good design should last a lifetime. But what does that really mean? Is it exceptional craftsmanship? Honest materials? Timeless design? For us, it's all of these.
It's why we choose natural materials that develop character with age. Why we back our furniture and kitchen collections with a lifetime guarantee. Why we restore and renew pieces rather than replace them. And why we create homes that feel as relevant in ten years as they do today.
Materials that lastWe never use MDF or chipboard, instead choosing solid timber and natural materials that can be maintained, refinished, and enjoyed for years as they develop character over time.
Our stores
We believe the best way to experience Neptune is in person. With over 30 stores nationwide, each designed like a real home, you can explore our furniture, kitchens and materials as they’re meant to be lived with. Our expert designers are there to guide you through every stage of your project, from first ideas through to final detail.
Our Story
It all started with a hammock. Back in 1996, friends John Sims-Hilditch and Giles Redman began crafting simple, well-made pieces for the home, guided by a belief that everyday living deserves better design. That belief still guides everything we do today, creating homes that are built to last, and designed to grow better with time.
Real Neptune homes
The most loved homes tell a story. Kitchens evolve with family life, tables become places to gather, and every piece grows more characterful with time. Explore a selection of real Neptune homes and see how our designs are made to be lived with.
