Solid oak and ash feature across floor and table lamp bases, crafted with the same construction principles Neptune applies to its furniture, including mortise-and-tenon joinery and a finish of IsoGuard® to protect the timber while preserving its natural beauty and grain. These are lamp bases built with the longevity of a furniture piece in mind, rather than a decorative accessory expected to be replaced.

Alongside the natural materials, the collection draws on a range of finishes and making processes that bring their own distinct character. Solid brass pendants are traditionally spun for a ribbed, artisanal texture, with a raw finish that develops a rich patina over time rather than remaining static. Hand-blown glass shades carry the characterful air bubbles that are an inherent part of the artisanal making process, giving each piece a subtle uniqueness. Ceramic lamp bases are individually glazed by skilled artisans and kiln-fired, with natural variation in colour and surface from piece to piece as a result of the firing process. Where natural stone is used, hand-carving by skilled stonemasons means no two bases are exactly the same.

The lampshades in the collection are designed as a considered part of the scheme rather than an afterthought, available in linen and cotton-linen blends that complement the natural materials of the bases and soften the quality of the light they diffuse.
