Elcot Tiles, Sage

from  £60

To create Elcot we work with a family-run workshop in Marlborough whose owner is a close friend of ours, not to mention an expert colourist. In fact, the name, Elcot, was taken from the lane where they’ve been making tiles since 1955. Each tile is slip-casted in Italy using the finest clay, before coming to Marlborough to be given its undulating texture and glaze using pigments that have been individually mixed. It’s this artistry that creates Elcot’s beautiful variation in tone. The nature of clay also means that sizes and shapes can differ a little too – clay has a ‘memory’ so, even when cut straight, it wants to shape itself, resulting in a soft, natural edge. All these things come together to add texture and artistry to your walls.

  • Available in six colourways and two sizes
  • Can be laid horizontally to mimic bricks, as a single strip along a work surface, or vertically for a more contemporary look
