Honed Slate’s one of those lovely in-between shades – not quite brown, not quite grey, just a hint of sage green. It’s got an antique look, almost as if it’s been in the room forever. Pair it with our Cotswold or Limestone paint for a subtle contrast, or for a fresher, more contemporary look, pair with one of our light neutrals such as Snow or Salt.

How to use - primer

Great paintwork starts with a great primer. Ours works as a base coat or wood primer with all our paints - matt emulsion and eggshell. Use it to prep surfaces and it’ll make the end result much better, with a smooth, long lasting finish.

  • Clean brushes with warm water and soap.  
  • When painting a space where humidity and temperatures fluctuate, drying times may be longer.  
  • We recommend purchasing as much paint as you need in one go so it’s from the same batch and keep some spare for touch-ups.  
  • Colours may vary slightly with each pot – once open, stir thoroughly to ensure the paint is well mixed.  
  • Recycle the metal tin and plastic handle separately at home.

  • Standard delivery fee: £6.95 for orders under £150 (€30 for orders under €250 in Ireland).
  • Next working day delivery: £9.95, available on parcel deliveries to the UK only. Order before 2pm on a working day, no minimum spend.
  • Free standard delivery: on orders over £150 (€250 in Ireland).

Standard parcel deliveries to mainland UK for in-stock items will arrive within 5 days via our approved couriers.

Larger furniture deliveries:

  • Delivered through our Neptune Home Delivery Service, with charges based on the required service level. See our full delivery policy for details.
  • Made-to-order or unavailable items will be dispatched upon arrival at our warehouse, or we’ll contact you to arrange delivery.
