A closer look at Arundel

Arundel was inspired by dependable farmhouse trestle tables, and designed in a way that means it’ll endure – a modern heirloom. As humble as its influences may be, it has, without doubt, a refined and contemporary dimension to its character.

Materials

We use oak because of its beautiful grain, its durability and its sense of heritage (we’ve written more on oak’s qualities here). Part of its character are its knots and variations in tone, so each leg will be unique, never mind each table – exact replicas aren’t what Arundel is about

Finish

Heavily brushing the oak removes the soft fibres from its grain, creating a tactile surface that’s a touch rustic. It’s then protected with IsoGuard®, our timber treatment oil that makes oak easier to live with without masking its texture. It does initially darken its appearance, but our Natural finish replenishes the original colour.

In the making

In all our tables, we use joinery techniques that help to counteract timber’s natural tendency to expand (slightly) and shrink (just a little) as it adjusts to the temperature and humidity of your home.

Shape

Rectangular tables can often seem formal, but Arundel’s down-to-earth styling feels much more casual, especially when paired with the Arundel bench. This also makes it ideal for larger gatherings.

Design detail

Every aspect of Arundel – from its tabletop to its A-frame legs – is cut to be substantial but not overly chunky, to give it a timeless sense of solidity. And each edge is crisp but slightly chamfered so they’re not sharp.

Taking care of Arundel

We’ve put together this guide on taking care of your dining table, so that it stays looking as beautiful as the day you first brought it home.

We take our delivery service seriously. Neptune transport, Neptune people, Neptune service.

Our white glove service means you’ll have a two-man delivery team. That means no heavy lifting on your part is needed. They’ll take it to your desired spot, assemble it for you and take away the packaging for recycling.

No-quibble returns

We believe that returns should be easy, that’s why we approach them with a ‘no quibble’ mindset. If you decide on the day that it’s not for you then our delivery team can take it away for you there and then, free of charge.

But if you’d rather mull things over, you have 28 days to make up your mind. We do charge a pick-up fee of £29.95 here though, because we’ll need to send our delivery team back out to your address for collection.
