Kitchens for Alderley Edge homes
When the railway reached Alderley Edge in 1842, Manchester’s cotton merchants followed, and villas soon spread across the slopes below the Edge. Broomfield House on Macclesfield Road, built in 1847 from local sandstone by the architect Thomas Worthington, is an early example, and more villas of brick and stone line Congleton Road. Sir Humphrey de Trafford later laid out an estate of new roads and houses, most of them finished by 1910, and post-war family homes followed on the village’s north-eastern and western edges. Today it ranges from period houses set in generous grounds to large, carefully finished new homes.
Houses of such different ages ask different things of a kitchen. Chichester’s painted cabinetry and panelling make the most of a Victorian villa’s tall rooms. Henley’s mix of oak and paint suits the larger detached homes of Mottram St Andrew, while Suffolk’s quieter Shaker lines feel at home in the timber-framed farmhouses around Over Alderley. Borough’s freestanding pieces give the new houses at Alderley Park a flexible, contemporary alternative to fitted cabinetry.
Whatever your home, our designers take the time to understand your space, your architecture and the way you live, creating bespoke kitchens across Alderley Edge and the villages around it.

About our kitchen design service
Why choose Neptune for your Alderley Edge kitchen
Every Neptune kitchen is made from sustainably sourced solid timber. No MDF, no chipboard. Just solid oak, tulipwood and hardwood ply, constructed using traditional mortise-and-tenon joints and dovetail drawers that are built to last not just years, but generations.
That commitment to quality is part of what we call our 100-year mindset: making kitchens designed to outlast trends, refurbishments and generations of family life. It's why we can offer a lifetime guarantee on every kitchen we fit through our approved installation teams. Should any cabinet warp or crack from natural wood movement, we will repair or replace it. It's a promise we've made with confidence since John Sims-Hilditch and Giles Redman founded Neptune in 1996.
Our designers bring that same care to every project. Rated 4.8 out of 5 on Trustpilot, with over 10,000 reviews, Neptune is consistently rated among the UK's highest-rated kitchen brands, not because we simply deliver a product, but because we guide you through every stage of the process, from your first free consultation to the final fitting.
