The Sketch collection is a series of prints by the artist Betty Sims-Hilditch. Created in ink with a fluid style, each captures a different figure. The small ‘Seated’ pieces have a timeless simplicity that'll suit any space, and we've kept this contemporary feel with the moulded metal frames.

Betty Sims-Hilditch is a London-based artist who creates line drawings and black-and-white photographs. She uses a mix of ink, charcoal, watercolour and pencil to give depth and character to her illustrations.

For an appropriately traditional look, arrange all four of the smaller Seated prints in a grid over a bed or a sofa, or in the alcoves on either side of a fireplace.

The frame and mount

This print is presented in a wide white mount that keeps the attention on the subject and makes it stand out - even on a gallery wall. The bronze finish on the cedarwood frame (chosen for its light weight and fine grain) ensures a timeless feel, but is contemporary enough to be in keeping with the artwork.

Where we see it

For an artistic feel, arrange this print with a couple of others from Betty’s Sketch collection, as well as abstract pieces like our Ink or Circleprints. Prop some and hang others, then mix in a few sculptural pieces –EndellionandHermerdonwill echo Sketch’s figurative form.

  • Hang the artwork in a shady spot out of direct sunlight and avoid displaying it in places with moisture or frequent temperature changes, such as a steamy bathroom or near a freezer or oven.
  • Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth or air from a can,
  • Do not clean with abrasive materials, as these may scratch the glass.
